NEW Filter medium out-performs carbon in oil/water separators
SEPURA 'STERLING' filter medium
The use of activated carbon as an adsorbent in oil/water separators has been the default for many years. Carbon has known disadvantages, including the need to pre-soak, the dirty and dusty nature of the material, and its tendency to 'blind' if exposed to oil surges.
Previously, no alternative has offered significant improvements at a commercially viable cost.
Thousands of hours of research and testing have led us to the STERLING medium (patents applied for), which can be used in any separator designed for 'carbon bag service kits', where it is expected to out-perform carbon by at least 20%. The improvements are measurable in allowable flow rates, surge resistance and final water quality as well as its ability to handle condensate from a variety of lubricants and even stable emulsions. Incidental benefits are its light weight, cleanliness and the fact that it needs no pre-soaking before use.
Condensate Systems sells high quality replacement carbon kits, and will still do so while there is demand. However, the new material will also be available in kits to fit most common separators, and will prove to be an ideal problem solver on many sites.
