Whilst Electro Hydraulic (EH) and Electro Mechanical (EM) technologies are both mature in concept, there are significant issues that designers face when optimising the best control strategy for precision machine control. Modern thinking encourages an All Electric machine as the panacea of control, yet there are still compelling reasons why an EH or Hybrid solution might be the most effective. This presentation will explore some of the design and selection decisions, and feature case studies illustrating how Moog’s “Technology Neutral” approach has permitted development of some of the most impressive and precise machines in the World. |
